An Emptiness

by WriteLoveOnHerArms   Aug 9, 2007

An emptiness grows inside
When she sits at home and thinks
All alone and nowhere to go
Yet she still wants to hide

She becomes numb
As tears roll down her eyes
Letting it get the best of her
Leaving her feeling dumb

Should she even feel this way?
The puzzle was suppose to fit perfectly
But it's as if her life was in a mess
And it grows worst each and every day

She tends to keep it to herself
So no one else would ever see
How nervous and confused she'd become
When certain cards were dealt

The past alone keeps knocking
Bringing nightmares in her dreams
Waking up with an emptiness
Unaware of her surroundings

She still has her hopes and dreams
I guess that's something no one can steal
There's still that emptiness
Knowing things aren't always what they seem
