You said you were a friend

by Tracy D Rollings   Aug 10, 2007

Life is very funny at times
some days your on top of the ladder
and then the next you hit bottom
but for some reason it just don't matter.

You get up brush off and keep on going
back up you go reaching out for success
trying not to over look anything in life
and always doing your very best.

But I've learn that it's not always easy
taking it one day at a time as you go
hoping everything works out for you
how it comes out no one knows.

You dream of happiness
but you end up sad
try hard to smile
they keep making you mad.

Why can't people learn to get along
and try to have a heart
stop getting angry and calling names
because it tears friendships apart.©2007 Tracydr42

This is a good poem. I liked reading it. I think when people meet for the first time they do their best to be nice and polite. After a while they forget and then we see the person behind the mask. I think true love, even with friends, is when you love a person in spite of their bad habits and flaws.
    Only God is perfect!

    Take care,

Tracy, I love your message in this poem. Yet, there are a few grammatical errors and such. That can break the flow of the poem. The emotion behind the piece is very present, though. Loved it :)

    Tracy,
This is so true and the answer is probably that most people that argue are too much are usually so much alike. You speak many truths in this write and its saddening that sometimes life gets overwhelming and we don't stop and realize damage that it being done that could be rectified with a kind word or hello and listening to someone for a while.
You my friend will always be my friend, I wish you nothing but love, peace and happiness. Take Care, Kay
