The Darkness calls to you
Beckoning throughout the night
Oh you lost and lonely soul
So wounded and so wise
The spirits whisper your name
They reach out to your mind
But don't be afraid
The unknown lies before you
The ordinary lies behind
This new world is black and cold
But still feels so much more like home
With every shadow you embrace
With every fear that you face
You know danger lurks behind every corner
As does a dark beauty, a strange solitude
An intriguing mystery, an unimaginable incident
You are not blind like the others
No veil of disbelief covers your eyes
You see and hear and understand
The Darkness gives you sight
Gives you faith, gives you truth
Gives you that much needed sanctuary
To shield you from this life
Oh you wandering and weary soul
So miserable and so misunderstood
The Darkness heeds your cries
And offers you a place to stay
A place to rest, a place to hide
Whether your spirit is tormented
Or content and at peace
The Darkness will not forsake you
For you belong to it just like me
