Comes From The Heart.

by babblingxbrooke   Aug 10, 2007

With a cigarette in your mouth and the other tucked behind your ear,
I couldn't help but stare at you, preparing myself for what I was about to hear.

sitting under the starless sky,
various thoughts and feelings began circling my mind.

through the smoke from the cig, I was able to see,
the genuine guy sitting in front of me.

I lingered on every word you said, you had me mesmorized,
with each memory, came a new surprise.

at this point there were so many things I wanted to say and do,
but couldn't build up the courage to.

I can't help but admire you,
for being so strong after everything you've been through.

I know I can't give you a clean start,
just know that everything I say and do comes from the heart.

Isn't it amazing how we can get mesmerized by something so common, and little? Something like a cigarette?

This poem was very well written, it flowed nicely, and it was easy to read.

    Well done,
