As we sat there and stared at the stars
You held me tight in your arms
I remember thinking things couldn't get any better
But I was ever so wrong

You looked into my eyes with such a passion I begin to shake
I remember you asking me if I was cold
I wasn't but I told you I was
Just so you could hold me even closer

And when you looked into my eyes
I remember wondering if this was really real
I had waited for this moment forever
I didn't know if I was about to wake up in my bed disappointed again

But I realized it was ever so real as I suddenly felt your lips on mine
And you promised me the world
With that first sweet tender kiss
