What would you do

by Tracy D Rollings   Aug 11, 2007

An Innocent child
wreck less home
alcoholic parents
blood, cracked bones
cries in the night
voices go unheard
yet eyes turn away
keeps it quiet
never says a word
childhood lost
another broken heart
life goes on..©2007 Tracydr42

    Wow, gets you thinking.
Why do people do that, ignore what is happening right in front of them, or next door. A child can not do anything and therefore relies on the help of people who should know better. I think this poem is a bit of an eye opener.

I like this a lot because it's so simple and yet you feel a depth of agony. And I am SO sorry that these are all true, I mean it's made you an amazing poet but I'm sure you would have rather never written than experience these things. Actually I've written quite a few on abuse and I would love it if you'd check them out. I've never experience it personally and I would love to get your view on it. Thank you very much and you are so welcome for the comments. Once again, if you keep writing I'll keep reading, Tracy.
