You Flowers of Britain

by Nikki   Aug 11, 2007

You flowers of Britain, who bloom so bright
With vivid hues of rainbow light,
Shine from our gardens, town and city hubs,
From hills to dales, curry house to pubs.

Sing on the terraces, you voices of reason
Independent as our weather, in its season.
Adventurous in travel and broad in taste,
Passionate in sport, yet evenly paced.

Warm as the bracken and fertile minds,
Freedom sits on windswept sands.
Rooted in service, bearing quiet charity
Celebrate our loves, this British society,
Celebrate our lives, our British society.
