Once upon a time, a long time ago,
I let a friend turn into something more.
He was kind, caring, sensitive and funny,
his eyes seemed honest and his heart pure.
Every time he looked at me, I could feel,
His eyes looking straight into my soul.
His smile was so warm, I could feel,
It melting my heart, burning a hole.
He was all i thought about from the,
Second I woke up till i fell asleep.
The moments I spent with him were special,
Those memories close to my heart i shall keep.
All was well but it didn't end well,
Coz he cheated on me and broke my trust.
I was broken my heart went through,
A lot of pain, i only kept together JUST.
But it didn't end there he came back,
Said he was sorry and confused.
It was his ex, he didn't know what to do,
He didn't know how he really felt and was being used.
I thought about it for a while but,
Then i just couldn't stay away.
I loved him so much, i couldn't let him go,
I let him back in my life to stay.
It felt good again, the sky was brighter,
The grass was greener, I was full of joy.
But it wasn't long before his true colors,
started to show, I couldn't believe it, OH boy.
Yes he cheated again, destroyed all the,
trust and belief that I had in love.
I didn't know what to do,
My heart froze and i found it hard to move.
Moving on from that felt impossible,
I didn't know were to turn, I had no clue.
Yes it was a long long time ago and now I'm OK,
It was hard to imagine but it's true.
.........I WISH WE COULD HAVE JUST STAYED FRIENDS.
