Holes in the River

by *Charisma*   Aug 13, 2007

In the holes of the river
The bodies still lay
All the sand-covered lies
Being washed away

It's a small town secret
Corruption at it's best
And when power's pardoned
You leave out the rest

Forget the facts or evidence
It's all the same
A few signatures later
Nobody to blame

Those people knew the truth
Of the sheriff's nights.
He wasn't out working
And it wasn't all right.

But they slipped their knowledge
Into the wrong hands.
He was in on the damage
And ruined their plans.

His wife won't ever know.
The town's terrified.
No one will speak of it.
It's been safer to lie.

Written off an accident.
That's what they'll say,
But in the holes of the river
Is where the truth lays.

Ok so first off congrats on winning the contest. You truly deserved this win girl....let the comments commence! :)

Wow...this is dark for you! Congrats on coming to the other side! :) lol! But you did a great job...deception via murder makes a very interesting plot! And you pulled it off well, especially adding the taboo character. Great job!
