Nails In Hand

by No Need For A Name   Aug 13, 2007

We know it's coming
The final redemption
High expectations

We'll help our neighbors
Build it together
A powerful shelter

Wood and metal
Clasped together
Slowly it will rise
Thresholds and measures
No room for pleasures
Powerful yet weak
Needs much more

(Chorus)
So when you see our nails in hand
And the hammers going down and them
We're building a safe haven
To shelter us from the storm
So we can keep our fire warm
And hopefully lie here unharmed

Blistered and callused hands
Search for a light
In the dead of the night

No light to be found
Wires exposed
Shock and explode

Fears are growing
Bones are showing
Brittle and unforgettable
Fists are shaking
Rules are changing
Unfair untrue
And unforgivable too

(Chorus)
So when you see our nails in hand
And the hammers going down and them
We're building a safe haven
To shelter us from the storm
So we can keep our fire warm
And hopefully lie here unharmed

Thunder and lightening
Illuminate the world
Hope this shelter holds

Rain and hail
Shower down on us
In this house we trust

World's are collapsing
Thunder is clapping
Frightening and literal
Rain is pouring
Eyes are sour and
We hope we pray
We can't do anything

(Chorus)
So when you saw our nails in hand
And the hammers going down and them
We were building a safe haven
We sheltered us from the storm
So we kept our fire warm
And we lie here unharmed
