An Afterthought

Who is more responsible,
The taker or the taken?
Who's lesson is this to learn?

Is he to be less demanding,
Or,
Am I to be less giving?

Do I enable his greed,
Or,
Does greed overtake everything?

Do I chose so unwisely,
Or,
Am I too naive of ways not my own?

Am I to judge, or judge more harshly,
Or,
Do I harden my heart to protect it?

Do I lay myself out as a doormat,
Or,
Am I just someone who's disappointed by the chosen?

Will I figure this out,
Or,
Will I face this again, in different clothes.
