Condemned by Society

by Makenzie   Aug 13, 2007

You are reaching for the moon little one
Singing and being successful is unlikely
You have brains a doctor and a lawyer are likely
When scrounging for food, you singing career will be done

She was condemned by society for having a dream
Critics both near and dear mocking her hopes
Of her life she no longer can call the ropes
Of living in Nashville she would sit and scheme

Impossible, unlikely, foolhardy called was she
She had the lungs but lacked the guts
Thought by many that her aspiration was nuts
All she dearly wanted was the thought of a singer to be

Mocked by many she grew weary
Of her grasp on her dream she slowly let go
Bars and pubs were where she let her talent show
She had not the lungs or the courage was her theory

Society dragged her drown
She was an ordinary girl in an bleak world
Her dreams now furled
Life was such frown
