Pain is where the heart is.

by MaeThomas   Aug 14, 2007

Maybe I'll use this needle,
To take away the pain.
And inject the lethal poison,
Into each and every vein.

Of course I would feel better,
It's what poison's meant to do.
And as the effects start building up,
I wouldn't have to think of you.

But poison is outdated,
No one kills themselves that way.
So I'll take out my old razor,
And cut a part of me away.

The part that deeply loved you,
The side of me I must destroy.
My other half who never knew,
That she was just your toy.

Maybe razors are no better,
For what I want to do.
I could tie a noose around my neck?
Now does that appeal to you?

To step off of the highest chair,
And feel the rope loose slack
Swinging there like I could fly,
Left, right, front and back.

But I've forgotten the best method,
For tearing a soul apart.
If I truly wanted to suffer,
With you I'd leave my heart.

So out of all these choices,
I know what I must do.
And taking my glass heart outside,
I placed it in the hands of you.
