Silver Lining

by Alyssa Friday   Aug 14, 2007

Gazing up at greying skies
the rain falls down, drizzling pain and lies,
I stand in the down pour,
sometimes I forget what I'm here for.

And I know there're sunny skies ahead,
but somehow I get drowned in stones instead.

There's always a silver lining,
somewhere on a distant shore.
I know I'll find it someday,
and see what I'm looking for.
But truth and lies mingle in mist,
diluting rays of light.
So I need to find my silver lining
before I hit the darkness of the night.

Tingles run up and down my spine,
raindrops cling, and with lashes entwine,
my clothes are soaked, and yet I wait
for my sweet, sad, sorry fate.

And I know the skies will open soon,
but somehow I am stuck in darkened noon.

There's always a silver lining,
somwhere on a distant shore.
I know I'll find it someday,
and see what I'm looking for.
But truth and lies mingle in mist,
diluting rays of light.
So I need to find my silver lining
before I hit the darkness of the night.
Of the night.

There's always a silver lining,
somewhere on a distant shore.
I know that I'll find it someday,
and see what I'm looking for.
