It's the adolescent heartbreak
they say will go away
it's not supposed to be this hard
to make it through the day

it's a 'teen-thing' they tell me
i'll get over it with time
when you're this young you're not supposed
to put your heart out on the line

it's 'puppy love' and fascination
it's not meant to last
i'll move on and be happy
if I let enough time pass
