The Crow

by a broken smile with a broken heart is a poets life   Aug 14, 2007

I take a journey each night,
i die and survive in every dream.
i'm the hero, i'm the killer,
i kill myself, it's a thriller.
my brain plays the horror.
my eyes follow,
blood rushes through my veins.
i run from the images,
i hide from the terror.
my family dies and i'm left alone.
the world collapses,
i scream alone.
gray image
black tears
sore voice
death roams in every scene,
the crow flaps its wings,
it's time to go.
scene fades
light comes through
wait...a sound?...a chainsaw?...a scream?
No.... the alarm clock.
each night is the same.
every morning my journey ends.

Well dark poems are really not my type. But I guess your poem is really good. If I hate it if I have dreams like this. I like how you say that your dream is a journey.

I think to improve this poem you should capitalize all the (I's)

    wait...a sound?...a chainsaw?...a scream?
= I like how you used the sense of hearing in this poem, it adds to the description of the poem.

    Good job.

    - woah. those lines totally sent like a shiver up my spine. and they rolled so easily off my tongue when i read them.

the whole poem was simply wonderful. the imagery was very vivid; i could picture everything in my head. the flow was smooth and the emotions were very enticing. beautifully done.

    5.5
    take care,
