She not mine for the rest of time

by Randy Arnold Shine   Aug 15, 2007

I was young and selfish;
My first real love...
She left me and I thought nothing of it
At first.
Then I collided with the reality.
So I tried to drink it away...
The years came and went,
And we saw each other again.
Her smile, her brown eyes, her soothing voice made me feel like not a
day had gone by.
She didn't look at me with her familiar gaze of love...
Would she ever take me back?
She had some one.
Others came and went like time...
But she never considered me.
I was there when she needed me;
...Did every thing to let her know I loved her!
...Ended relations because of my love for her.
A small flame of hope remained,
Until the day came
When she received a ring.
She looked so in love, just as she did with the others.
He's always gone; she barley knows him.
His dog tag hangs from her neck by the cross my mother gave her.
My family feels betrayed by her.
I can feel my world crumbling.
I still remained...
The mention of his name is the deepest pain;
Where do I go now?
Does she know how I feel?
Would it change anything?
Can she see through my fake smile?
It doesn't matter anymore...
Because it will never be.
