Ugly Beauty

He's a little boy of only eight-years-old,
His life, the definition of a sad story told;
He only has one leg, and his face is scarred.
Don't break him down now, he's fought so hard.

When he smiles he can brighten up December rain,
Immediately our world has lessened of pain.
He will reach out his tiny arms, will hold on tight,
Suddenly in an instant, everything is all right.

His heart is a flower; his mind is a gem,
Yet in our society he's just "one of them":
A poor lost soul, who cannot speak,
People take one look and suggest he is weak.

How ignorant can one person be?
If they looked in his eyes, then his heart they would see.
He has the soul of an angel, his smile shines bright,
And we already know that this boy's won his fight.

    Awehh wow! This brought tears to my eyes! This is beautiful Darling, you told the story and you told it perfectly. I was brought into your words from the first line and kept in until the last, no distractions which is saying a lot for me lol. Great job.

    This is so sad and written so beautifully. It kind of reminds me of a song, I think it was called, "God's Will", or something like that. Anyway, the poem was wonderful. The rhymes, word choice and flow were all so perfect here. 5/5
