I've felt like this before

I've felt like this before when love was just a twinkle among-st the heavens

when i was too reserved to let anyone beyond the gates that kept my heart protected

when all i had to go on was a shattered instinct and a hollow intuition.....

it's all coming back to me now when you tell me those words I've so long wanted to hear,

when you begin showering me with questionable admiration

i remember feeling this way the last time someone showed me the slightest affection as you are now

but do i start anew and give you that chance you so unwilling have yet to earn, leaving myself in that vulnerable position
or let whatever is occurring take it's coarse
