Fires Live in The Air

by Krazy   Aug 15, 2007

Tears find a resting place
shirt sprinkled with dry areas
falling apart never used to be so hard

harsh words exchanged ending in disappointment
passive bullets are shot
each painfully finding their wounded target

cries for peace can barely be heard
for the battle surrounding them is much too loud
reasons of the first aim unknown to each

separated from each others warmth
gradually becoming colder
quickly falling faster and farther

fires have ceased
all is silent
hope is forming

A step from behind,
tells him she's there, waiting.
What could possibly fix this?

Her angelic voice finds my ears.
I hear I'm sorry,
Can I come back home?

Fires have ceased
All is silent
We're home.

Wow this was amazing. I love the way that it was written and I also love how you made if full of metaphores. Amazing title it fit with the subject of love and as well if fit with the entirity of your poem, which is sometimes a hard thing to do. The last verse was my favorite because it shows that even when your fighting when your in love you can get past it and be happy again. nice work
