Recovering Soul

by brianna   Aug 15, 2007

I froze at the sound of the breaking glass
that opened to reminiscence of my past
forever love you, if only you were real
all clouds my mind, the picture so surreal
not all bad, yet so very profound
killing my soul, dug so deep into the ground

let you go, as if the choice were mine
feeling space reveal itself, after such a long time
your hand once brushed against my cheek
ran through my hair, I was barely able to speak
held on real tight, not ready for goodbye
so much pain, like a torturous lullaby

the love in my heart, is not so free
like a real thick blanket, covering me
full of remorse and unforgiving hate
all weaved into the web of life we create
I'm full of hope, for I think I have won
and am now the beautiful young girl, I was meant to become
