The Mask

by DeadandBleeding   Aug 16, 2007

The inanimate object
With which to hide behind
A smile, painted
To suit the time of day
To hide the true feelings from within
The frightening truth
That lay hidden underneath the mask
The weaknesses of personality
Flaws of character
Fragility of behaviour
And the limitations of the infirmity
That encloses the persona
Squeezes it into a little box
And hides it away amongst the depths of society

The sortness of the poem worked well, with the deep and powerful wording. I really liked the poem, good job
