The Mirror

by Bre Monique   Aug 16, 2007

Sometimes when I look into the mirror
I cringe at what I see
Sometimes I have to stop and wonder
Is that really me?

Because the girl in the mirror
Seems lonely, scared, and sad
The girl I see staring back
Is always wishing for the life she never had

She knows to dream of who you want to be
Is to waste the person you are
Yet she can't help but to keep wishing at night
Upon the bright shining star

She wonders how the world can accept her
If she can't even accept herself
All these thoughts are driving her crazy
It's affecting her mental health

She knows she's going to go crazy
It's just a matter of when
So she tries to be herself
She tries hard not to pretend

But the girl I see in the mirror
Isn't as tough and confident as she tries to be
The girl I see is weak and fragile
The girl I see is me

It was a good poem, try not to jump from 1st person to 3rd person.

Anyway overall it was a fine written piece, keep up the good work.
