Twilight

by Cawi   Aug 16, 2007

The moon hides behind the suns golden glow,
Pushed back by the obtrusive cinder ray.
Inferior to days impressive show,
Blinded by light from the glistening bay,
The slick silver moon will forever know,
That during the blistering heat of day,
It must hang under the sun and keep low,
Secretly wanting the sun the give way.

But then light retreats to the fall of night,
And the moon rises to the starry sky,
Illuminating shadows from its height.
At twilight the defeated sun asks why,
The timid moon has never lost a fight,
Why when day dies the moon rules in Earths eye.
