I Don't Have To Try

by Jenni Marie   Aug 16, 2007

Always putting me down
Supposed to be a friend
Finally had enough of your crap
It's time for this to end

Lying about me to others
Trying to make me look bad
Why do you insist on doing this?
You're the one that looks sad

So you have more possessions
Get everything paid for you
Ever thought that I don't care
About things you supposedly do?

Much rather be me than you
Just try to understand
At least I'm self sufficient
Don't need help to stand

Yeah, you might have more money
But I'm the one with the pure heart
Don't need to tell lies about my 'friends'
Should have seen spitefulness at the start

So you keep telling people I'm on drugs
Tell everyone that I sleep around
Nothing you can say can hurt me
For my happiness I have found

Yes you might have a better education
Doesn't make you smarter than me
For I'm going to make something of my life
And one day soon, this you will see

Keep making your smart-ass comments
All I do is constantly laugh inside
You look jealous and pathetic
Guess that you have no pride

Guess what? Don't need your friendship
Do you have twisted hope of seeing me cry?
Trying to look better, but I'm better than you
Always have been, and don't even have to try
