Tonight I pick up a pen
As I sit alone in my room
A notebook lies in my lap
And I'm trying to write you a poem
Hoping to show you in words
How deeply I feel for you inside

Or how you make me weak in the knees
Even after all this time
And when you look at me
Oh honey, it takes my breath away
I get lost in your eyes every time

How I long to hear your voice each day
How it brings me peace

I can still feel butterflies

I can see the blue horizon

See the thing is
I can sit here writing forever

So I'll sit here and write you a poem
