A Cynic is just an Idealist who's been disappointed

by AGirlWorthFightingFor   Aug 16, 2007

Universal sympathy,
is there such a thing
when you sacrifice
your dignity
on this kareoke stage
Singing lines enscribed
of another man's creation
for someone you'll never meet
and with a bold gesture
claim sympathy is false,
morally presumptuous

Can we ever know
another's heart
or perhaps through shared experience
there exists a bridge
of understanding
bound by tears
memories blister every kiss

Are there any words to describe
or too many thoughts flowing out at once
palling the mouth
to say nothing of the eyes
Scooped out upon birth,
a universal blindness
partiality

I fell in love with this one's title. It really drew me in and caught my attention.
I like the flow, the vocabulary, the form, everything. I've read more of your work, and loved all of it.. but found this one to be brilliant. Your lines are a little short, but then again.. it'd sound forced if they werent. You did an excellent job. I enjoyed reading this.

This was absolutely amazing - I cant believe Im the first one to comment on it!! VERY much liked that. And I LOVED the title - cause it kind of describes me to a tea.

I love the questions you propose to the reader. Thanks for the read.
