The vampire.

by Helene   Aug 17, 2007

Come child, come child,
and lay by my chest,
Soon I will show you
what I can do best.
So fragile, so young,
so innocent too;
I wonder how long
I'll be draining from you.
I taste your warm blood
Long before I have bitten,
Look away so you won't
see the sharp teeth I've hidden.
The moment I smile is
The moment you scream,
Say farewell to this life
And hello to this dream;
It's a nightmare of horror
each night it sets place
when a vampire finds
a young child to embrace.
The goodness in you and the evil in me,
I win so I've marked
that Evil shall be;
But now shines the sun,
forever you'll rest,
In a moment I'll show you what I can do best.

Yours

    Great poem!
    I love how you have strongly brought across the lack of remorse a vampire has and still made the poem flow well.
