Abbreviated feelings

by Sarah   Aug 17, 2007

Love and hate so pure and heartfelt
unthinkable deeds and unspoken words
a passion for longing and a passion for death
twisted feelings that are rarely heard

a beautiful sky and pretty rainbows
a colorful rose and dancing waves
an anarchist sign and a skull with cross bones
a cruel swear word and a deathly haze

thoughts left alone in their mixed up world
emotions often misinterpreted inside
children beaten senseless without a care
a lustful adolescent and her lover hide

a need for resentment, a need for power
a need for happiness jumbled with sex
a cry for help from a self harming addict
a confused young lad who searches for his ex

love and hate so strange and weird
both are words one never likes to hear
a tear that drips down the face of a fourteen year old
and the concern of the parents that were never told.

This poem is filled with such a range of emotions and experiences. I really enjoyed it, as so many people can relate, as can I. You have a good use of vocab and flow, which made this poem penned very well. Good job.
