Crossed the Line

by Christy Carpenter   Apr 28, 2004

You can't even stop the waves now, it doesn't even ripple at your feet.
I tried to warn you more than once, but you wouldn't listen to me.

"Life is short, live it full" is what they always say to me
But you played the wrong piece, lost the bet, now you had to leave.

Playing on the double yellow line
This time they can't see you
This time you crossed the line
Nothing more you can do

Lets play with this steel, its only a blade
You should have known its not for skin, it was made to shave
I saw it coming, but you said everything would be okay
You pushed & pushed to much, you had to cross the line and play.

Playing on the double yellow line
This time they can't see you
This time you crossed the line
Nothing more you can do
Playing on the double yellow line
You had to use the blade
This time you crossed the line
Nothing you can do but pay

Why didn't you listen?
I told you more than once
Doesn't matter now
Everything is over & done.

Playing on the double yellow line
This time they can't see you
This time you crossed the line
Nothing more you can do
Playing on the double yellow line
You had to use the blade
This time you crossed the line
Nothing you can do but pay

Love the positive line '"Life is short, live it full" It electrified the gloom in the poem, I still think that, that is true. Great work baby. Take care Ok?
