Storm

by Christy Carpenter   Apr 28, 2004

As the storm slowly approaches
The twigs begin to sway
I hear the thunder rumble
And know its coming my Way.

The storm gains power & endurance
As it inches its way towards me
The clouds begin to thicken
As I begin to bleed.

The storm will continue
The lightening will strike
The thunder will roll on.
Storms lose their strength, however, and I will not be so strong.

The raindrops race each other
Running to the ground
It changes color, from blue to red
As it runs farther down.

The storm lightens up, it is almost over
But the wind already broke the twigs
you never see the same storm twice
And you won't see me again.

The storm will continue
The lightening will strike
The thunder will roll on.
But just as storms come and go
By morning I'll be gone.

Nothing can stop it
Mother Nature's fault
Father time let it go
The storm will come
And leave
It is my time to go.
