Wasting your life away

by Christy Carpenter   Apr 28, 2004

You wasting your life away
I watch as it crumbles piece-by-piece, everyday.
I can't do anything because you pushed me away
I watch as your life passes you by
Your wasting your life away.

I look to you, you see right through as if I were never there at all
I'd put out my hand, you yanked yours away and just watched me fall.

Now I'm lost in this canyon, not knowing what to do
All I wanted was a chance, was that too much to ask of you?

You wasting your life away
I watch as it crumbles piece-by-piece, everyday.
I can't do anything because you pushed me away
I watch as your life passes you by
Your wasting your life away.

The waves crash over you, you're a ghost in memory
At least now you have your wish, you always wanted to be free.

You wasted your life away
I could only watch it crumble before me, everyday.
There was nothing I could do, you pushed me away
I watched your life pass you by
You wasted your life away.
