My Miss Right (free verse poem)

by Jason   Aug 18, 2007

One upon a time I met a sweet lady named Lucy,
And her honest and serious attitude caught my attention.
She likes driving Harleys,
And a lover giving me motorcycle rides is one of my dreams.

She saw my face,
But she judges me based on my personality,
Since personalities say a lot more about a person than looks.
But some ladies stopped talking to me after seeing my face.

She is a person who believes in helping out folks in society,
And she also wants to help my life become filled with happiness instead of boredom.
She is a person who likes kids,
And I believe her being a Mom is a blessing in itself.

The best part about Lucy is she believes in enjoying life to the fullest.
Which includes her engaging in thrills.
I guess you can call her being a biker lady one of her thrills,
Since women with motorcycles isn't common in society.

This is a good poem, and I still stick to it by its words. Finding a Miss Right is tougher than I thought. She has to accept me for my whole self. I can understand her never being perfect, and I sincerely hope NO woman in this world views me as perfect. But I do think if she wants to help me improve as a person, it would help if she at least follows her own advice.

Because I hate hypocrites as well. And these folks must be in the same boat as women who play around with innocent men.

Love is expensive to keep up with. And I'm not just talking about dates costing a lot of money. If someone wants to be friends with me, they do have to find time to at least socialize with me frequently. And not just 2-3 times per month. If their lives are too busy to even contact me once per week whee we just talk casually, then it's best to not be my friend.

I know if I was too busy, I'd be sweet enough to at least return a woman's call attempt. And I'd explain to her nicely why I haven't been answering her calls.

Finding time to be friends with a woman isn't costly to me. But there's a realistic side to a friendship with a woman. And a lotta men think women are like fairy tale women. Women have feelings. And some women get negative and develop attitudes when it comes to my innocent attempts of working things out.

If a woman doesn't understand why I use name-calling when I get mad, maybe it has something to do with the saying "Treat others the same way you want to be treated." If a woman treats me nice, I'll treat her nice. If a woman is gonna make me feel like a worthless piece of junk, it's only fair if I make her feel the same way.

If a woman thinks I'm supposed to treat her nicely when she says things to me that insult me as a person, all I can say is she's not living in the real world. Judging me based on an interest I have and one she disagrees with should be worked out instead of having her treat it as an insult to me.
