Betrayal

by StarvingForPerfection   Aug 18, 2007

She trusted no one
with her heart as fragile
as a crystal carved painting
on your wall

but her apprehension
sent her spiraling down
as she fell in love
with the devil's song

and she wrote her betrothal
on her pale white skin
to be forever a memory
of her sacrifice

and when the time came
he betrayed her
and left her to suffer
in her mortal sin

and she had never felt deception
for she'd hidden herself from the world
for so long
but when she finally couldnt take it

she grabbed the bottle of novacane
and sang "kill the pain,
i dont want to ever feel again,
save my soul,
i can't take it anymore"

and she woke up in the morning
to find herself still alive
and it took her a while
to finally realize

that her pain was immortal
and so was her cursed soul
and she would live forever
with the memory of her betrayal

...forever

I agree with kitkat girl. That was also my favourite verse. I feel like a lot of your poetry is very easy to connect to and very realistic as well. Can't wait for more works of art from you!

    This is a good poem.
    I really like the part,
    "but her apprehension
    sent her spiraling down
    as she fell in love
    with the devil's song."
And it was really cool that you used and uncommon word like, betrothal, in your poem.
    keep writing
    peace
