Life Giving Water

by Michael D Nalley   Aug 18, 2007

Earth wind and fire all things seen and unseen
Let the water come down to wash us clean
With peace in our hearts we shall not draw blood
We will have no further need of cleansing by flood

Water from the streams or wells that quenches our thirst
Has ascended to the heavens to be purified first
Let us drink from our cup until we have our fill
As the love that comes from God may gently spill

The seven colors of the rainbow may hold our fates
The tempest rages in our souls while serenity awaits
From the dew of the sky to the waters in the sea
Life giving waters flow from almighty divinity

Wonderful poem, very deep, meaningful and excellently written. I like the message that it holds.
Choice of words in the whole piece is amazing and the flow is great, too. The third stanza is my favorite. I like the metaphors used in the poem a lot. Imagery is very vivid and breath-taking.
    5/5 from me
