Outside Looking In

by Nicole   Aug 18, 2007

Looking on the outside
You'd say my life is all in place.
You'd think I'm more than happy
When you saw my smiling face.

I act as every thing's perfect
That my life is the way it should be
But all it is, is acting
To hide what you shouldn't see.

The outside is just my mask.
The inside is far from the same.
You see a girl with no problems in the world
Who only hides her true pain.

If you looked deep into my eyes
You'd see the sadness that's so blind.
If you look deep within my heart,
Misery is all you'd find.

My life is not as easy as it may seem
There's so much torment I have to take.
I dare you to stare straight at my face
And you'd finally notice my smiles are fake.

You would never have guessed,
That there's so much misery deep within.
But it's really so easy if you look close enough
From the outside looking in.
