Trapped

by Unidentified   Aug 18, 2007

She weeps, begging for the light to shine.
Trapped in her own self-created fortress,
Tortured by the deafening silence
And ripped apart
By the hungry bloodthirsty wolves of loneliness.
Her soul, now mere leftovers
Of what used to be 'the perfect life'
Hatred poured over her
Like acidic rain on a green forest,
Polluting, destroying, killing.
Her rotting heart, tempted by the devil's 'helping' hand,
Almost reaching out in the darkness to grab hold of it.

Squashed inside her little, bloodstained origami box
Wondering how she got in
But furthermore desperate to get out.
Her chances of happiness are almost zilch
She knows in her heart,
But she carries on
Scratching at the walls with her own bare fingers and toes
Biting at the floors and ceilings
Hoping for an escape route to magically appear
Hoping to touch, savor the world's crisp and loving atmosphere
Wishing to have gone back in time
And undo the mistakes that caused this fortress to emerge out of nowhere
