Piece of Heaven [Lento]

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Aug 18, 2007

Two hearts beating in the middle of the night,
Through the silence that spills into the room;
True bliss is found in your arms, feels so right -
To be yours, our love set up in full bloom.

Eyes closed, your chest rising and falling;
Cries from my heart to yours, three words;
Skies so pure couldn`t capture the calling,
Disguise my words, but I love you is what you heard.

--------------------------------------------------------------

A poetic form created by Lencio Dominic Rodrigues, consists of two quatrains with a fixed rhyme scheme of abcb, defe as the second and forth lines of each stanza must rhyme. To take it a step further, but not required, try rhyming the first and third lines as well as the second and forth lines of each stanza in this rhyming pattern: abab, cdcd. The fun part of this poem is thrown in here as all the FIRST words of each verse should rhyme. There is no fixed syllable structure to the Lento, but keeping a good, flowing rhythm is recommended.
