Remember Me

by Twisted Heart   Aug 18, 2007

Upon the door of death I stand
Head hangs in wistful shame
About to take a step beyond
Soul tossed for one to claim.

My life is passing by inside
My mind so clear to see
One request I ask of God
"In heaven remember me".

I see the perils of my life
The choices I made wrong
The pain I felt because of them
No laughter in the song.

The many times I walked away
Refusing all your pleas
But now I ask with all my heart
"In heaven remember me".

The tears of loss I feel them still
so strong upon my soul
Bitter sadness fills the mind
Refusing to let go.

But as I stand upon the path
A threshold there to be
"Wrap your arms around my heart
and in heaven remember me".
