It was only a dream,
Just something I thought of whilst sleeping, yet
What I saw remains within me as
sweet memories, I let
Myself float in the ocean,
and saw what brought a tear to my eye,
A mermaid, floating in clouds of
Silver, expression enough to make me cry,
Shining locks wrapped round nothing,
Torso pale and slim,
Silver tail with frill-like fin,
Looking round till her eyes lay on him.
A merman, eyes so bright, that lay
Upon the girl so sad,
With a flick of his tail he swam over to her,
Her hurt eyes lit up, she was glad,
And so was I, as I floated in the sea,
For My dreaming mermaid was in love,
And I felt her heart, I felt her pain,
As we drifted like a dove,
Truly one yet truly two,
Seperate yet close,
Different yet identical,
Open yet closed.
And I smiled for her as we swam,
My mermaid in the sea.
For she was so full of love,
And she's a part of me.
