Scales of Life

Take me back, just a short time
So that I can undo the recent wrongs
and tip the scales of life

Let me protect what I hold close
Let me keep it clenched, unexposed
Let me revel within my dreams

Once depicted, what vestiges entice?
The dynamism of the conquest dwindles
and apathy fills the soul

Rare from an archetypical recipient
praise and acquiesce from a Lion
befalls another prize for the coffers

For one who shines under admiration
skilfully hinting and hunting
once ascertained, moves on

Searching for the next ecstasy
sailing over a new wave
leaving behind pounding surf

Endeavouring to balance life's proffers
yet not pausing long
before augmenting the weight

Yes, take me back, just a short time
So that I can undo the recent wrongs
and tip the scales of life

    I just read your poem. i would need to read it a few times as it comes acros complex. on first impressions it is a bit too wordy. i think simplicity of words is more important. have you editited this poem or how long were you writing, before you were satisfied with the finish
