Letters And Waiting (Lyrics?)

by ALEX   Aug 19, 2007

Hold up those letters
high over your head.
An empty reminder,
to fill you with dread...
And when nothing is making much sense anymore...
And your conscience appears to have run for the door...
Just fold up those letters,
The only proof left
of a summer adventure;
A summer mistake.
When those answers remain on the edge of tomorrow,
When reasons come after they're sought.
I've got a secret,
a secret to tell.
I'm sure that you'll laugh,
'cause I know you so well.
The hand that had penned all those
folded up lettesr will come back be it
wanted or not.
And you'll catch up to yesterday,
wait for tomorrow...
The answers are suddenly clear:
I'll wait for you.
So hold up my letters.
What's left to be said?
Are they just reminders
of what's still ahead?
And if life is spent waiting for that next tomorrow...
Please promise that you'll still be here.
I'll wait for you.

This is quite a sweet poem or maybe song... the question mark on the "lyrics" confuses me... i don't quite understand if you did write it as a song and then thought it more as a poem or wrote a poem that looked then like a song...
anyway... poem or song, it is amazingly meaningful... :)

    my fav part would be:

    "I'll wait for you.
    So hold up my letters.
    What's left to be said?
    Are they just reminders
    of what's still ahead?
And if life is spent waiting for that next tomorrow...
Please promise that you'll still be here.
    I'll wait for you."

i ask myself how would it sound like, as a song... what melody would fit in... =) lol you made me daydream :)
    wonderfully written
    *keep on*
