His drunken mistake

by amer   Aug 20, 2007

Shattered glass,

in the moments past,

so fast;

slipped out of fingers,

out of drunken grasp.

The click and sharp silver flash,

it can't be taken back,

blame the drink you can't.

...And she was there.

She dropped that glass,

from trembling hands.

She cried,

pleading for an end.

Ignored.

She turns away.

She can't face,

what has become,

what has been done.

These broken moments,

can't rewind in time,

to erase, to save,

more than just the pain.

our regrets,

hard to forget.

Tense smiles, replaceable lies

can never take these broken moments back.

Done.

Set in skin.

Broke the ties, can't retract,

these shattered bits of glass.
