Memories

by NightPersonality   Aug 20, 2007

'I love you. So much... for seven and a half years...' Emerald eyes are filled with hope.

A darkness lurks behind the light, waiting... always waiting to kill it and consume everything.

'Ha ha ha, OK.' The little orange light stops blinking. The heart is breaking, while the mind realizes its mistake.

The darkness will always overpower the light. There is never enough light. The light cannot exist without the shadows.

'What? No... he, he didn't... but I...' The tears of bitter love are shed. Dew drops of the heart that will never touch a blade of grass.

The light freezes... hesitant. The darkness echoes and the light shatters. The millions of tiny, insignificant pieces are quickly consumed by the growing shadows.

Her mouth is dry as cotton. A thick tongue desperately caresses dry, cracked lips. The mind quickly retreats behind mistrustful barriers. The heart is alone. It quivers in pain.

Memories of happiness in past times play like a broken record all around. Never stopping. They never stop, the broken girl stares on with a twisted smile. The darkness clouds her soft, green eyes.
