My Ex

We used to be the best of friends until the day you asked me to be your girlfriend.
foolishly i agreed not knowing what it would bring.
the times we shared and the moments we had were the best but it brought me pain.
you were my first love not able to get another. i enjoyed the times we had tgether but it was my fault the pain we both had to suffer.
2 years on and now we dont speak but i wish to thank you because it was this relationship we had that caused me to change for you made me see that i wasnt making anyone happy
i couldnt do it for you but i managed to because of you. if only we were together now you could see how you changed me.
i wish to be friends like it was before knowing i will never have anything more. but i also know that friendship will never be the same because we have both changed.
