Midnight Rendezvous

by Aqua Tinted   Aug 21, 2007

I bleed lithium; lace my words in vodka and dry my tears of rum.
Let's play these games that we both know so well;
turn on music of broken love lines
and cover them with bags of plastic liquor.

Take your turn; rip my heart from it's glass case
and slam it to the ground, shattering it in pieces.
Sweet roses cry crimson upon the shards
as they pierce what's left of my soul.

Take the glass; your weapon of choice and I'll hold my wrist to you.
Carve...carve your worthless name into it
and know that this dying heart and this assisted suicide,
laced in lullaby lies, is due to your arrogance and my demise.

Slash away the memories; splice the veins that run through me -
cut you out of my life and into my arm -
listen to the silence enveloped around us;
such a bittersweet symphony of your rage.

Love built upon lies and covered by faulty words
from a Valentine that never loved;
Listen to the song sang sweetly into this alternate reality -
broken and tossed aside.

In the depths of the night, where shadows loom
casting grotesque figures over head
and blanketing your world in crystal glycerine;
falling gently into abyss.

Endless serenades from broken records remind me
that you were nothing but a pawn in this devious plan;
and I was nothing more than a follower, led into temptation
by he who has done me wrong.
