Desperation

by natalie   Aug 21, 2007

As they carry on
with their daily routine
using all their strength
to lift, yet another stone slab
struggling
blood, sweat and tears
they must carry on
they cannot be seen
slacking
god only knows
what their next punishment will be
they have to do this
day in, day out
they work for pennies
but thye carry on
at least it's something
they think
the heat is unbearable
they can't afford
to slack
they hope and pray
that someone or something
will come and save them
they can barely move
cos of the previous days beatings
they are desperate now
each day becoming worse
starvation, dehydration
if they carry on like this
their body will eventually
shut down
as each day passes
another man dies
dies of the strain
he's applying to his muscles
the pain of the constant beatings
every day
will theyy ever find their saviour
they think
as the struggle
to keep up the pace
they hope and pray
in desperation
