They Only See

by Cathy   Aug 21, 2007

They only see the outside of my face
they don't see that I'm dyeing from disgrace
I wear a smile as my disguise
and I turn away so they don't see the pain in my eyes
They only see my laughing like I'm amused
but they don't know at home I'm abused
they see my nice clothes and the way I fix my hair
but to let them see the truth I will not dare

"I wear a smile as my disguise"
I like this line, i think everyone has went through at least one point in there life where they have done this.
I get from the poem though that you have nothing to be ashamed off. Great poem, so much emotion crammed into one, just abrupt to the point and prefect.
