Eyes of Blue

by Thoughtless Consideration   Aug 21, 2007

Months of blocking your face from my mind:
Cutting off my sight and making me blind.
Panicking at the mention of your name,
Living a lie; fear and utter shame.

Drowning in loss at the thought of those eyes,
Frustrated; wondering why I had to leave you behind.
Suffocated and choking on my own words;
Can't write a poem for the life of me that describes this emotional blur.

Fingers fumbling with a reluctant keyboard,
Thinking about that mysterious world of love which I stupidly left unexplored.
Weeks and weeks running away from you and your pain,
Going completely crazy in my effort to stay sane.

Now finally hearing your voice musters up feelings these words just can't express,
How can I succeed when I no longer know the meaning of success?
Your laugh is the sweetest music in the entire world,
You make me so happy, I just want to dance around and swirl...

So with a few simple words you stole my hear back,
My careful, devious plans obviously slacked.
I want so badly to see, just one more time, those glorious eyes of blue.
And the truth is you'll never understand how badly I miss you...
