DEFINING THE DIFFERENCES....

by fatima   Aug 21, 2007

Yes we had our differences,
Differences that would never change.
Yet we were so similar,
We got on so well it was strange.

It was like our differences,
Were only skin deep.
Inside, in our hearts and minds,
We had the same desires that we would seek.

The colour of our hair may not,
Be common, our eyes may not match.
But I understood the way you thought,
I felt what you felt, upto the scratch.

It was our emotions and our thinking,
That we had in common, our minds just clicked.
I thought we belonged together forever,
And i couldn't find anyone better no matter how hard I picked.

Yes we had our differences and,
We would have to fight the world to remain together.
It required a lot of strength, courage,
And power, which we didn't have and I will regret that forever.

Being so different yet so similar,
To someone I thought would be so untrue.
Having different beliefs, values and religions,
But still similarities are possible I believed after meeting you. x x x

    This poem is absolutely amazing.
    it speaks of regret.
    but understanding.
    keep it up.
